Here are three perfect and equivalent mustard seed substitute.
Mustard Seed Substitute = Turmeric Powder
Turmeric powder’s taste is hot, peppery, refreshing, and contains a brilliant color. This spice is a perfect substitute and can be used in the ratio of 1:1 to the mustard seeds.
Mustard Seed Substitute = Prepared Horseradish
Horseradish is prepared by combining ground horseradish with vinegar to form a sauce. In place of mustard seeds, the same amount of prepared horseradish can be used.
Mustard Seed Substitute = Mayonnaise
Use mayonnaise to achieve consistency. If you need mustard seeds for the consistency of a dish, substitute mustard seeds with the same amount of mayonnaise.

Ground mustard is the same thing as mustard seeds except for their apparent form. Ground Mustard powder is formed by grinding the mustard seeds and is, therefore, a perfect substitute for mustard seeds. Use 1 tbsp of mustard powder against 1 tbsp of mustard seeds. Using Different Kinds of Mustard. Substitute the same amount of dry mustard. Substitute 1 Tbsp of dry mustard seeds with 1 Tbsp of mustard seeds. Useprepared mustard instead of mustard seeds. Try to decrease the amount of liquid in your recipe to compensate for this substitution. But for others, use 1/3 of the amount of prepared mustard in place of mustard seed. Replace white mustard seeds with few brown/black ones. Brown and black mustard seeds are more effective than white mustard seeds. If you need white mustard seeds for your recipe, try using a quarter of the amount of black mustard seeds or half the amount of brown mustard seeds.
